Untidy at the first - soon composed in behind and drifted to the back of the chasing group after the 3rd - a distant third at halfway - made up ground approaching 2 out and moved into a slight advantage entering the straight - driven out to stamp authority nearing the last - ran on powerfully to draw right away on the run-in
Mr P W Mullins
W P Mullins
Went straight to front and opened daylight with closest challenger from the 3rd - drifted off line at the 4th and 3rd from home - gap shortened before the 2nd last where drifted right again - driven along and lost the front just as the straight began - fighting for second spot approaching the final fence - stayed on at one speed to the line
Danny Mullins
W P Mullins
Settled towards back early - fourth and unhurried at halfway - made ground into contention before two out - driven up to challenge in the straight - stumbled at last while fighting for second then found little more and finished third
Paul Townend

Sat close up early travelling keenly - errors at the 2nd and 3rd then opened a big gap on the rest - small stumble 4th - crept onto the outsider's flank before 2 out and cut the margin - blundered 2 out - niggled along in 4th soon after - couldn't quicken into the straight - faded to finish fourth
