Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Counting Coup is our selection in this big Naas field over 16 furlongs on soft ground, and he is preferred to the top-rated Helvic Dream on his progressive profile. He sits at 100 in our ratings, just five pounds behind that rival, which is a narrow gap he can bridge if his upward curve continues. Helvic Dream is the obvious danger as the top-rated runner on 105, while Comfort Zone on 99 and Galileo Dame on 98 are both close enough to cause problems in a competitive 18-runner contest. Confidence is low given the size of the field, but Counting Coup's improvement makes him the pick.

Comfort Zone won three starts back and has run over today's trip and going, while our rating of 99 ranks him third of 18 and he's back quickly after 14 days. The risk is two ninths since, and he carries 140 lb off an official mark of 96.

Counting Coup arrives with two wins in his last four starts, a winner two starts back and again four starts back, and he has run on today's going before. Last time out was unplaced, but a 29-day break and a rating of 100 make him our pick.

Three straight thirds, the latest 14 days ago, show Galileo Dame is in cracking heart, and she has run over today's trip and going before, with our rating of 98 ranking her fourth of 18. The one concern is that she is yet to win in her last six starts, and she carries 138 lb.

Helvic Dream has run over today's trip and going, and his 105 rating tops the field of 18, though he's been unplaced last time out and is winless in his last five, so a quick 16-day return off 133 lb gives him plenty to prove. The main risk is a yard that's struggling, with just one success from 27 in the last fortnight.

Abbotsford bounced back to be second last time out just ten days ago, and he has a winner three starts back, though a seventh two starts back shows his consistency is patchy. He has run on today's going, but 132 lb is a notable burden, and our rating of 98 ranks him sixth of 18.

Unplaced last time out, though a second two starts back and a winner five starts back show she has ability, and she's fresh enough after 14 days; she has run over today's trip and going, but carrying 132 lb off 88 looks a stiff ask, and our rating of 92 only ranks her ninth of 18.
