Minella Crooner is the pick of this six-runner staying contest at Market Rasen, rated 152 on our figures and a hefty 7 lb ahead of Transmission, who is the most obvious threat on 145. That is a meaningful edge over this extended 23 furlongs on good ground, and nothing bar Transmission gets closer than 20 lb to our selection. The Egyptian Ginge on 132 is the next best, while Roaring Home, Rialannah and Diamond Geezer are all bunched on 123 and look to be racing for the places. Minella Crooner should prove too strong, so he gets the vote, albeit Transmission could make it a contest.

Transmission won three starts back and was third two runs ago, so the ability is there, and he has run over today's trip and going. Our rating of 145 ranks him second of six, but a seventh last time out and 175 days off, carrying 168 lb, is the main risk.

Won last time out and again two starts back, with a second and a third before that, so The Egyptian Ginge arrives in cracking order after 22 days off, with a yard in form and experience of today's trip and going. The main risk is 163 lb, a hefty burden off a mark of 130.

Minella Crooner is the top-rated runner on our figures, and his 152 sits well clear of his official 130, though he has pulled up in his last three starts and returns after 185 days off. He has run over today's trip and carries 163 lb, so the class edge must do the work.

Won last time out and again three starts back, but he's been off for 199 days and carries 152 lb, which makes him hard to fancy; he has run over today's trip and going, though, and our figures still rank him sixth of six.

Rialannah is hard to fancy after unseating last time out and a 146-day absence, though she won two starts back and three starts back, and has run over today's trip and going. Carrying 149 lb, she is rated fifth of six on our figures.

Roaring Home brings a consistent profile, with a win five starts back and another four starts back, then a second, a second and a fourth last time out. She has run over today's trip and on this going, though 42 days since her last run leaves a question over sharpness under 148 lb.
