Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Maire Rua heads our ratings at 98, a full 10 lb clear of Apollo's Comet on 88, and that is a substantial gap in a Class 1 contest over a mile on good to soft ground. She has the form profile to back up the figures and looks the one to beat in an 11-runner field. The principal dangers are Apollo's Comet, Blonde Over Blue on 87 and Bellesque on 86, who sit tightly bunched behind and could pick up the pieces if she is below her best. Maire Rua is the confident selection.

Admired Beauty arrives in good heart, second last time out and a winner two starts back, and she has run over today's trip, but a quick return after just three days and 128 lb off an official 78 make this a stiff ask. Our rating of 75 ranks her sixth of 11, and she races from draw 6.

Apollo's Comet won three starts back and was third four starts back, so she knows how to get her head in front, and she has run over today's trip. The big risk is her form since, a seventh then a sixth, though our rating of 88 ranks her second of 11 from draw 7 off 128 lb.

Bellesque has a solid recent profile, with a win four starts back and a second five starts back, and she has run over today's trip before. The main risk is that she has slipped to a fifth last time out and an eighth before that, and she returns after 38 days.

Blonde Over Blue won four starts back and has run over today's trip, and a 38-day break gives her a fresh outlook after a ninth last time out; our rating of 87 ranks her third of 11. The main risk is that she has slipped since that win, with a fourth and a fifth before the latest disappointment.

Chattering Classes is winless in her last two, though a third last time out and a fourth two starts back show she is in some form, and she is fresh from a 12-day break. Ranked ninth of 11 on our figures and carrying 128 lb from stall 10, she looks tough to fancy, though she has run over today's trip.

Cross Of Stars was only sixth last time out and is yet to win in her recent form, so she is hard to fancy after 35 days off. She has run over today's trip and gets draw 1, but our figures have her last of 11.

Golden Ring bounced back from a third three starts back to win two starts back, but she was seventh last time out and only 11 days ago, so freshness isn't the issue. She has run over today's trip, carries 128 lb from stall 11, and our rating of 79 places her fifth of 11.

Fresh from a win last time out, with a third two starts back, Isle Of Capri arrives 31 days after that run and has run over today's trip. Carrying 128 lb from stall two, she's ranked seventh of 11 on our rating of 75, which tempers the upside.

Magna Victoria won last time out and returns after 29 days, having run over today's trip and going before, which gives her a sound platform. Carrying 128 lb from draw 8, she is ranked only eighth of 11 on our rating of 70, so this Class 1 company looks the question.

Maire Rua is a fine choice, having won last time out and three starts back, with a third in between, so she arrives in cracking form. She has run over today's trip and drew stall 5, though 38 days off and 128 lb are small questions; our rating of 98 has her top of 11.

The Good Wife won last time out after a sixth two starts back, and she has run over today's trip and going, but a 35-day break is a concern. Our figures rank her tenth of 11 on a rating of 69, so she is hard to fancy from stall 3 off 128 lb.
