Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Gatsby Grey looks the standout at Clonmel, with our rating of 131 putting him 14 lb ahead of the next best, Charlie Luciano on 117, and that is a sizeable gap over this 21-furlong trip on good ground. Charlie Luciano is the chief danger, with Banjaxed on 116 and Prince Palace on 112 the others most likely to make him work, but none of them gets close to our top-rated runner on our figures. Gatsby Grey should have too much class in a 12-runner field, and he is the selection.

Charlie Luciano showed up well when third last time out, only 12 days ago, and he has run over today's trip and going before, while a second four starts back underlines his ability. The concern is a stable out of form, 0/27 in the last 14 days, plus 166 lb on his back.

Banjaxed arrives fresh from a fourth last time out, 19 days ago, and has run over today's trip and on this going before; our rating of 116 ranks him third of twelve, so he's a leading danger despite carrying 161 lb. The risk is that he's yet to win in his last five starts, with a sixth and an eighth in that sequence.

Kings Jet fell last time out but showed enough before that, with a third two starts back and a second three starts back, and he has run over today's trip and going. Yet to win in recent starts and carrying 157 lb, he looks a midfield sort, with our rating of 110 only marginally above his official 108.

Ceroc showed enough with a third last time out, and a winner two starts back, but he's had a pulled up and a sixth in the last five too, and 75 days off is a worry. He has run over today's trip and going, yet 156 lb and a ninth-ranked 106 on our figures make him hard to fancy.

Lambay Island has been unplaced in his last two outings, which makes him hard to fancy, though a second three starts back and a third four starts back show he can still go close. He has run over today's trip and going, but he is yet to win in recent form and carries 156 lb after 33 days off, and our figures rank him 11th of 12.

Won last time out, 18 days ago, and has run over today's trip and going, but he's been patchy before that with a sixth two starts back and an unplaced effort three runs ago. Carrying 156 lb off 107, he looks a solid midfield sort, with our rating of 109 placing him sixth of twelve.

Duty Bound has been pulled up in two of his last three outings, and he's yet to win in his last five, though a fifth two starts back and a second five starts back show some ability. He has run over today's trip and going, but 75 days off and 154 lb are concerns, even with our rating of 109 ranking him seventh of twelve.

Prince Palace comes here fresh from a second last time out just 16 days ago, and he has run over today's trip and going before, while our rating of 112 ranks him fourth of twelve. The main risk is a stable struggling at 1/21 in the last fortnight, plus 149 lb to carry and a pulled up two starts back.

Grange Walk has finished sixth, seventh and seventh in his last three outings and is winless in his last six, though a third six starts back shows he has a bit of ability, and he has run over today's trip and going. Carrying 146 lb off 97 after 27 days off, he looks a midfield type, with our rating of 109 the main case for him.
