Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Banshof gets the nod in this 16-runner eight-furlong contest on soft ground, with a progressive profile and a fitness edge giving him the advantage over the top-rated runner. He is rated 59, only five pounds behind Miss Abby Jools on 64, which is a gap he can bridge if his upward curve continues. Miss Abby Jools is the chief danger as the top-rated runner, while Sands Castle on 60 and Spanish Princess on 58 also have to be respected in a competitive field. Banshof is our selection.

Medieval Night is winless in his last six, though a third two starts back and a second four starts back show he can get involved, and he has run over today's trip and going. A sixth last time out, a quiet yard and 140 lb from stall 12 temper enthusiasm.

Quick back-up in 12 days keeps Spanish Princess fit, and she has run over today's trip and going before, while our rating of 58 ranks her fourth of 16 and sits above her official 55. Yet to win in her last five, with a fifth the best of it, and the yard's 1/26 is the main worry.

Real Petite was fourth last time out but has finished sixth, eighth and unplaced since her win six starts back, and she's yet to rediscover that spark. She has run over today's trip and going, and 30 days off is fine, but 129 lb from stall 19 and an eleventh-ranked rating of 48 against an official 44 point to a midfield finish.

Cannonball Queen is winless in her last six, finishing seventh last time out and sixth two starts back, with a fourth three starts back her best effort, so she is hard to fancy off a 40-day break. She has run over today's trip and going, but 128 lb from stall 6 is no help.

Captain Ciano is winless in his last six, unplaced in each of his last three and no better than an eighth four starts back, so he is hard to fancy. He has run over today's trip and going, and a quick 12-day turnaround keeps him fit, but 127 lb from stall 18 asks plenty.

Survivor's Code is winless in her last six, though a fifth last time out and a quick 11-day turnaround hint at some improvement, and she has run over today's trip and going. Rated 51 by us against an official 43, she still carries 125 lb from stall eight, and a string of unplaced efforts keeps her in midfield territory.
