Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Wyvill is our selection at Southwell, and he gets the nod on his progressive profile, which counts for more than a few pounds on a rating in a modest 12-furlong Class 6 contest. He is only 6 lb behind the top-rated Havachoc on our figures, a gap he can close if his improvement continues. Havachoc is the chief danger, with Alkaios just a pound further back and Nymphaea also in the mix, so this looks an open affair with a big field of 14. Wyvill is the pick, though only a low-confidence one.

Miss Veronika is winless in her last three, finishing sixth twice and a fourth three starts back, and she returns after 46 days off. She has run on today's going, but our rating of 42 ranks her last of 14, so she is hard to fancy.

Havachoc heads our ratings at 62 against an official mark of 53, and he has run over today's trip and going before, so a 29-day break and 133 lb look manageable. The risk is form: he's winless in recent starts and has finished sixth, ninth and seventh over his last three.

Highland Harvey is consistent without a win, with a fourth last time out, another fourth two starts back and a third three starts back, and he has run over today's trip and going before after 18 days off. Carrying 131 lb off an official mark of 51 caps his margin, though our rating of 57 puts him fifth of 14.

Wyvill arrives with back-to-back thirds in his last two starts, and he has run over today's trip and going before, which backs up the case for him. A 35-day break and a stable cold at 0/27 are the reservations, but he looks fairly treated off an official rating of 55.
