Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Passerine heads our ratings at 81 and is the logical choice in a competitive 14-runner Class 6 contest at Southwell, with a two-pound edge over Perfect Hope that is narrow rather than decisive. Perfect Hope is the chief danger, while Hoosier (74) and From Me To You (73) also sit close enough to pick up the pieces if our selection fails to fire. The field is wide open and confidence is low, but Passerine's superior rating gives her the best credentials on the day, so she is our pick.

Won last time out and back within six days, this gelding looks a leading danger, having also run over today's trip and on the going, with our rating of 73 ranking him fourth of 14. The risk is a quick turnaround under 139 lb after a patchy run of form before that win.

Diamondise is yet to win in his last three starts, finishing eighth last time out and ninth two runs before, and he returns after 40 days off. He has run over today's trip and his official 65 is modest, but carrying 135 lb from draw 4, our 51 rating ranks him 13th of 14.

Passerine arrives in sound recent form, third last time out and a second three starts back, and she is fit after just 14 days off, having run over today's trip before. Our rating of 81 makes her the one to beat, though she is yet to win in her last five.

Lilywhite Hart was sixth last time out after a third two starts back, which is her best recent effort, and she has run over today's trip. She's yet to win in her last six starts, though, and 135 lb from draw 10 asks plenty, even if our rating of 72 ranks her fifth of 14.

Wintour is winless in her last three, though a fourth last time out, after a sixth two starts back and a ninth three starts back, shows she is heading the right way. She has run over today's trip and is fresh enough after 20 days, but 135 lb from stall 8 is a lot to carry.

Forever Faithfull is hard to fancy, having finished sixth last time out, then an eighth two starts back and a seventh three starts back, so she is winless in her last three. She has run over today's trip and returns after 22 days, but 135 lb from stall 5 and our rating of 53, ranked 12 of 14, leave her with plenty to find.

Son of Light was third last time out, and a fourth two starts back, so he arrives in steady form after 23 days off, having run over today's trip and going before. He is yet to win in recent starts, though, and 135 lb from stall 12 is a fair burden.

Caravel showed a bit more when fourth last time out after two sevenths, but she's winless in her last three and returns from a 92-day break, which leaves fitness a question. She has run over today's trip and drops in from stall 1, with our rating of 68 only mid-pack at eighth of 14.

Kochella is winless in her last five, with a seventh last time out, though she was third two starts back, and a 71-day break raises fitness questions. She has run over today's trip and our rating of 67 is above her official 63, but 133 lb from stall seven is a tall order.

Lopefernza was fifth last time out, and he has finished sixth and seventh in the starts before, so he is consistent but yet to win in his last four starts. He has run over today's trip and going, and our rating of 62 sits a few pounds above his official 59, though 129 lb from stall 13 after 35 days off keeps him mid-pack.

Ten of Clubs is winless in his last six, with an eighth last time out and just a third three starts back to show, while a yard going 1 from 35 offers little encouragement. He has run over today's trip and going and is back quickly after 10 days, but ranked 11th of 14 on our figures he is hard to fancy.
