Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Manoir de Mirande No. 3
Jack Kennedy · Gordon Elliott
✓ Top rated ✓ Distance winner ✓ Won last time out
Manoir de Mirande rates just a pound behind Costacurta on our figures, and a fitness edge is enough to tip the balance in his favour in a tightly packed eleven-runner contest over two miles on good to soft ground. Costacurta is the obvious danger as the top-rated runner, while Court Canyon and Mercury Mission are both within a few pounds and cannot be dismissed. With so little between the leading contenders, the sharper animal looks the one to be with, so Manoir de Mirande is our selection.

Court Canyon has won twice in his last five starts, including a victory two starts back, and he has run over today's trip and going before. A fifth last time out and 92 days off the track are the main concerns, along with 166 lb.

Costacurta is consistent, with a second three starts back and thirds four and five runs ago, and he has run over today's trip and going before. Top-rated by us and fresh after 40 days off, though a seventh last time out is the one blot.

Manoir de Mirande arrives in cracking nick, having won last time out just 20 days ago and taken three of his last six starts, with a fell two starts back the only blemish. He has run over today's trip and going, though 162 lb is a hefty burden.

Fresh from a win last time out, and a second two starts back, Farrokh arrives fit after 22 days and has run over today's trip and going before. Carrying 161 lb off an official mark of 115 is a stiff ask, though, and our rating of 114 ranks him only fifth of eleven.

Mercury Mission looks a leading danger, having been second, third and second in three of his last five before a fifth two starts back, and he has run over today's trip and going. The risk is a fall last time out and 100 days off, with 158 lb to carry.

Fresh from a win last time out 19 days ago, he has run over today's trip and going, but a seventh two starts back and just one win in his last six starts temper the case. Carrying 155 lb off 109, he looks a mid-pack type, with our rating of 112 placing him sixth of eleven.

Takenasred showed some consistency with a fifth last time out and a third two starts back, and he has run over today's trip and going, but he is yet to win in his last five starts. Carrying 153 lb off an official mark of 107, he looks more of a midfield type than a threat.

Won last time out and two starts back, with a second three starts back, so the form is strong, and he has run over today's trip and going. A 78-day break and 147 lb are the concerns, while our rating ranks him only eighth of eleven.

Phoenix Arizona was fifth last time out, 19 days ago, and has just one win in his last six, a victory three starts back; carrying 146 lb off an official mark of 100, he looks hard to fancy, though he has run over today's trip and going before, and our rating of 98 ranks him last of 11.

Kalsman is yet to win in his last six, though a fourth last time out follows a pulled up two starts back, and he has run over today's trip; carrying 145 lb off 99 and ranked ninth of 11 on our figures, he looks hard to fancy.

Winless in her last five, Sayitfirst was a fifth last time out, eight days ago, and a third two starts back is the only real highlight in a run of modest efforts. She has run over today's trip and going, but 140 lb is a stiff burden and our figures rank her tenth of eleven.
