Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Ardera Gun is our selection at Wexford, rated 97 and just two pounds behind Reflectionist, and we side with him because his fitness edge should count over this 20 furlongs. Reflectionist is the obvious danger as the top-rated runner on 99, while Diamond Secret (96) is a pound behind our pick and Spellacy's Cross (92) completes the main threats in a 14-runner field. With so little between the leading trio on figures, being the sharper horse on the day can be the deciding factor, and Ardera Gun gets the nod.

Butty O Brien was fourth last time out and a winner two starts back, so the recent form has some substance, but she returns after 177 days off and carries 162 lb. She has run over today's trip, though our rating of 90 ranks her only seventh of 14.

Rebel Queen is hard to fancy, winless in her last five starts with finishes of unplaced last time out, a seventh two starts back and a sixth five starts back. Carrying 157 lb off an official mark of 90 after 37 days off, she has a lot to prove, though that break could mean she's fresh.

Ardera Gun comes here in useful shape, a second last time out and a third two starts back, and he is back after just 18 days. He has run over today's trip and is yet to win in recent starts, but the form is on the up, and our rating of 97 backs the case.

Portetta is winless in her last five, with a sixth last time out and a ninth three starts back, though she's fresh enough after 22 days and has run over today's trip. Our rating of 89 sits above her official 86, but 154 lb is a hefty burden for a mid-pack sort.

Ballyminnion Boy is hard to fancy, winless in his last six with a seventh last time out and a sixth two starts back, and he has been unplaced in three of the others. A 31-day break is a small positive, but he rates only 84 on our figures, carries 153 lb off 85 and ranks 12th of 14.

The Cobblers Wife was fourth last time out, and a winner two starts back, but she has a pulled up and a sixth in the other recent runs, and 65 days off plus 150 lb is a hard ask. Ranked 13 of 14 on our figures, she has run over today's trip, which is about the best that can be said.

Spellacy's Cross is rated 92 by us, fourth of 14, and has a seventh last time out to bounce back from, with a fourth two starts back and a third three starts back showing he can get involved; he has run over today's trip and runs off 81. The main risk is a 148-day absence, so fitness is the question.

Alright George has been well beaten in his last five starts, with a sixth two starts back his best finish, and a 646-day absence plus a yard 0/23 in the last 14 days is a worry. Our rating of 85 sits well above his official mark of 77, though 145 lb is a big burden.

Hob's Angel is winless in her last six, with a ninth last time out and an unseated two starts back hardly inspiring, though a third five starts back shows she can get involved. She has run over today's trip, and 141 lb is no gift for a mare rated 73.

Diamond Secret has been unplaced last time and refused two starts back, but he has run over today's trip and our rating of 96 (third of 14) sits well above his official 91, so he's a leading danger. The risk is an 83-day absence and a winless recent run.

Speakasyoufind showed some life with a fourth last time out, 26 days ago, and has run over today's trip, but he's yet to win in his last six starts and a ninth two starts back does little to help. Trainer's 0/23 run and 155 lb are further hurdles.
