Tip for this race
All today's tips ›Known Warrior gets the nod at Plumpton, where his fitness edge, progressive profile and more solid book of form make him the preferred option over Kapability, who is only two pounds better on our figures. That slim gap is easily bridged by a horse arriving in sharper condition and still heading in the right direction over this 20-furlong trip on good ground. Kapability is the chief danger as the top-rated runner, while Onewayortother, three pounds behind our pick, and Lord Maher also have to be respected. Known Warrior is the selection.

Kapability tops our ranking and has run on today's going before, with a 100 official mark and 168 lb to carry, but she is winless in her last four, unplaced last time and ninth two starts back. The main risk is a 242-day absence.

Fourth last time out and a second three starts back show Walk In The West can run well, and he has run over today's trip and going, but he is yet to win in his last five and returns after 181 days off. Our rating of 88 sits above his official 86, though 154 lb is a big ask.

Lord Maher has run over today's going before and arrives with our rating of 89 ranking him fourth of ten, while his 152 lb burden sits against an official mark of 84. Form figures of fifth, seventh, brought down, fifth and fourth are steady enough, but 172 days off is the main risk.

Fourth last time out and fresh enough after 18 days, Diamond Days has run over today's trip and going, but he is winless in his last five and was pulled up two starts back. Trainer's strong form helps, though 152 lb off a mark of 84 looks a stiff ask.

Hiero Sport was second last time out and has run over today's trip and on this going, but he's a fifth and an unseated in the two runs before that, and carrying 150 lb off 82 makes him hard to fancy. Our figures rank him eighth of ten.
